In our quest to develop African researchers for African development, we’re seeking intellectually curious postgraduate students who have a passion for real-world development.
Our bursary programme offers you:

- Full financial support for your studies (tuition, book and laptop allowance, a generous stipend for accommodation, food and transport)
- A dedicated mentor to guide you through the academic year
- The opportunity to gain work experience while studying, through at least six weeks of paid internship time onsite at Cenfri’s offices in Durbanville and through remote work
- Good prospects to join our team of research analysts full-time after graduation and on successful completion of the programme
Requirements
- Being on track to enter a one-year, or your final year of a Masters-level qualification in economics or related fields
- A strong interest in research-related activities and a passion for development
- A GPA of 60% or higher, across all subjects, in the current or most recent academic year of enrolment at a higher education institution
- Good writing and presentation skills
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Advanced English language skills (verbal and written)
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Good quantitative and analytical skills
- Knowledge of Stata and the analysis of household survey data (advantageous)
- Additional African languages (advantageous)
