Nedbank serves as the official sponsor of the South African premier knockout football competition which involves teams from all the official league divisions in South Africa.
Format and Draw
32 Teams made up of 16 from the Premier Soccer League, 8 from the National First Division and 8 from the Amateur Division are paired against each other in a one-off match with the winner advancing to the next round of the competition. Pairing of teams to face off is done on a random basis meaning teams from the premier division could be paired with teams from the lower division.

Nedbank Cup fixtures are released to the general public by Premier Soccer League (PSL) and the football governing body pf South Africa. The fixture list does not only include matches but venues to be used, referees who will officiate the matches, dates and kick-off time.

After results from a round of matches, Nedbank will repeat the process of drawing fixtures for the next round. This process is repeated until there are only two teams left.

Unlike the previous rounds, Nedbank cup finals are played at neutral venues under floodlight in the evening, usually 19:00 GMT to enable a large majority of South Africans to be able to watch.
