Through the UNISA Postgraduate Diploma and Honours bursaries programs, students have been given the opportunity to complete their postgraduate studies. The purpose of these bursaries is to provide financial aid to committed and hard-working students in need of financial aid.

Many students have successfully completed their studies through these programs, which have enabled them to further their education.

The UNISA Postgraduate Diploma and Honours bursaries application will be available from 4 January 2021 until 31 March 2021.

About This Bursary/Company

The UNISA Postgraduate Diploma and Honors bursaries are available to all South African students who study a postgraduate diploma or honors degree in any field. Bursaries are awarded based on the availability of funding, eligibility, and academic performance.

A selection committee will consider all applications and decide on the disbursement of tuition fees to the successful candidates. Students need to complete their qualifications within a three-year period.

Students who wish to renew their bursaries must comply with the relevant conditions set by the Postgraduate Bursaries Administration Office. If they cancel a bursary, they will require the student to pay back any monies used from the bursary that was awarded to them.

What do the bursaries cover?

The UNISA Postgraduate Diploma and Honours bursaries will only cover the students tuition fees for the first two years of the degree.

The bursaries will not cover:

ADVERTISEMENT

  • Failed past modules
  • Failure to comply with the conditions
  • If the student cancels their studies
  • Special study programs
  • Those who already hold a postgraduate degree or a higher level degree

Should the student not complete the three-year postgraduate qualification or fail to re-register for the following year (2nd year), the student will be in breach of the bursary agreement.

The UNISA Postgraduate Diploma and Honours bursary awarded to the student will be canceled. All funds paid by the bursar will need to be paid back to UNISA.

Who Can Apply?

UNISA awards the UNISA Postgraduate Diploma and Honours bursaries to South Africans who are registered for any postgraduate or honours degree.

Applicants must ensure that they meet the requirements for the Bursary before applying.

If you do not meet the requirements, they will automatically disqualify your application.

  • South African Citizen
  • Completed an undergraduate course
  • Have maintained an average grade of 60% or above
  • Registered for the postgraduate course

How to Apply?

You can only apply for UNISA Postgraduate Diploma and Honors Bursaries online through UNISA’s online student portal. Hard copies or email applications will not be accepted.

  • First register with UNISA on the student portal
  • Enter your student ID (username) and password on the myUNISA platform

The following documents need to be uploaded when submitting your application:

  • Certified copy of ID document
  • Proof of registration
  • Copy of your Academic Record (Certified or Encrypted by the institution)

Any late or incomplete applications will not be considered in the selection process.
