The GCRA Bursary is intended for students who are residing within the Gauteng area and are unemployed. This bursary is developed by the Gauteng City-Region Academy to promote and develop skills in the Gauteng province. The GCRA bursary is for ALL study fields available.

About The Gauteng City Region Academy
The GCRA is actually part of the Gauteng Department of Education. Their main goal is to develop skills inside the Gauteng province and they do this with the help of Bursaries, learnerships, Internships and programs that guide you to find a specific career. So the Gauteng City Academy bursary is just 1 way to help the youth to develop their skills and find a suitable job.
Who Can Apply?
If you want to apply for this bursary, you will need to satisfy the following demands:
- You are a South African Citizen residing inside Gauteng Province
- You are currently unemployed
- You have a Grade 12 certificate
- Preference will be given to students who are part of a previously disadvantaged group
- You are between 18 and 35 years old
- You are currently studying or going to study at a tertiary institution full time
If you meet the following 3 criteria, you will automatically qualify for this bursary. But if you do, don’t forget to apply because that is something you still need to do.

- You are in the top 3 students for LSEN (Learners Special Education Needs) on a Gauteng based school
What does the Bursary Cover?
This bursary covers the basics:
- Registration fees
- Textbooks
- Tuition fees
This bursary will not cover all fees that accompanies studying in SA. They advise to find additional bursaries and sponsorship to cover all costs.
