Requirements and Eligibility

Kindly note that students need to satisfy all of the requirements of the BEKA Schreder Bursary in order to be considered for the programme:

  • Applications are open to South African citizens ONLY.
  • Prospective applicants should have obtained their matric certificate/should currently be in their matric year.
  • Prospective applicants should be studying or intend to study an undergraduate degree in the fields of financial accounting, finance, human resources, marketing, logistics, supply chain management, information technology, or engineering.
  • Prospective applicants should be studying or intend to study at an institution that has received the required accreditation from the Department of Higher Education (DHET).
  • Prospective applicants should boast a strong academic record.

Kindly note that the granting of the BEKA Schreder Bursary is at the sole discretion of BEKA Schreder (Pty) Ltd.

What does the BEKA Schreder Bursary Cover?

The BEKA Schreder Bursary Programme will cover the following study-related expenses:

  • The tuition fees of the successful applicant will be paid for.
  • The prescribed textbooks of the successful applicant will be paid for.
  • The accommodation of the successful applicant will be paid for.
  • The meals of the successful applicant will be paid for.
  • Successful applicants will be provided an opportunity to enter into vacation work and/or vocational training during the year of coverage.

It is important to know that successful applicants are not entitled to the monetary difference in the event that bursary-related expenditure does not exceed the R75 000 bursary amount.

A full or partial reimbursement to BEKA Schreder could be required in the event that a student fails to complete their program.

Kindly note that the BEKA Schreder Bursary will only cover expenses that do not exceed R75 000. The bursary is granted for ONE year.

Successful applicants are provided with an opportunity to reapply for the BEKA Schreder bursary upon the end of the bursary’s coverage. The success of the reapplication process is entirely dependent on the results that the student obtained throughout the year.

How to Apply for the BEKA Schreder Bursary?

Prospective applicants may apply for the BEKA Schreder Bursary programme in one of the following ways:

  • Download and complete the application form.

The following supporting documentation should be attached to the applicant’s application form:

  • The applicant should attach a certified copy of their ID certificate.
  • The applicant should provide a certified copy of their latest matric results if they are currently in their final year of matric.
  • The applicant should provide a certified copy of their final matric results if they have completed matric.
  • The applicant should provide their proof of acceptance at a relevant tertiary institution that has received its Department of Higher Education (DHET) certification.
  • The applicant should provide certified proof of their household income. This could take the form of their parents’ pay slips, audited financial statements or relevant affidavits.
  • The applicant should provide a motivational letter indicating why they believe they should be awarded the BEKA Schreder Bursary.

Failure to adhere to the application requirements could result in the application being disregarded.
